Choose from one of eight Kites and Castles events throughout August.
Summertime at the Shore brings back fond childhood memories of that first taste of the season’s salt air, sun-drenched sand, sparkling waves and soft, gentle breezes. It’s the one place we get to be a kid again — especially when we have the excellent excuse of toting along a few of our own. That’s why, here at #STTS, we are dedicating the months of July and August to kids and families everywhere. We’re inviting you to join in the fun at one of our eight Kites and Castles weekend events going on at the Shore.
When’s the last time you made a sandcastle? Bring a pail and shovel and make your creation as lavish or primitive as you like. There will be sandcastle-building workshops for kids and grown-ups alike, unearthing the secrets that the pros use to build their astonishing works of sand art. From mixing the right sand consistency and practicing compaction, to testing out new tools and working on carving, we’re sure the whole family will enjoy gaining a new arsenal of professional sandcastle-building tips and tricks.
If you see us running up and down the beach with a kite, that’s because we’re hosting our very own kite-making workshop, too. Kids can design and decorate their very own personal kite, then get first-hand help flying it from a true kite-flying professional. It’s theirs to keep so they’ll remember what’s soon to become a nostalgic day at the beach — kids grow up way too fast!
Keep an eye out for our #STTS Kites and Castles team flying and sculpting our way up and down the Shore. We’ll kick off our summer-long event in Manasquan on July 18th - Riddle Way and 1st Avenue Beach Entrance, Ship Bottom on July 27th, Ocean Grove on August 3rd, Ventnor City on August 8th, Seaside Park on August 10th, Cape May City on August 17th, and Asbury Park on August 24th.
Check out our calendar for all upcoming events, because we don’t want you to miss a thing at the Jersey Shore in the summer of 2013.
